Project: Administration Lodge
Location: Deerfield, MA

Eaglebrook School asked Windigo to design a series of additions and renovations to their lodge to define the “gateway” to the campus. The lodge was the original school building in the late nineteenth century and now houses reception spaces and administrative offices. The new front porch frames the front door and provides a seat from which to enjoy the landscape, while the renovated board room’s wood paneling creates a warm and stately atmosphere for the school’s meetings.

To house the expanding Admissions Offices, an addition to the lodge is proposed. The proposed addition allocates 1,900 square feet on the first floor for offices and reception areas, 780 square feet on the second floor for two private offices, and 1,900 square feet of climate-controlled storage in the basement.

The spirit of the design captures the rustic character of the exiting lodge through the articulation and materials of the new facades. The exposed post and beam framing in the reception area introduces visiting students and parents to Eaglebrook School.
