Intern at Windigo

Internships

Windigo Architecture has had the pleasure of working with numerous talented and hardworking interns over the last few decades from a variety of schools and backgrounds.

Some Partner Colleges and Universities:

Whether working for a few months over the summer or for several years, architectural interns at Windigo have received a well-rounded professional experience. Creating presentations, working with clients, collaborating with consultants, or coordinating with contractors are all part of the daily activities of our staff. As a member of NCARB Windigo helps interns work on their IDP requirements for licensure. We offer time and financial assistance for studying and materials.

Because Windigo is a creative design based firm, the culture of the office is intense when needed but in a comfortable, working environment. The design studio offers plenty of space and natural light to design, sketch, build models or draw.

Bookended by Monday morning meetings complete with coffee and pastries to the occasional Friday wrap-up happy hour, we strive to achieve life/work balance –something very challenging in the architectural profession. During the week days-in-between, the engaging process of creating architecture relies on a hard-working, collaborative effort, the passionate debates that come along with that, and the cautious and focused concentration required to create and produce good architecture.

Though the office is located in a rural part of New Jersey, our projects take us to NYC and throughout the Northeast and Florida. Diversity is a watchword for Windigo, as our designs respond to a wide variety of regional influences and ways of working, as well as project scales and building types.

In addition, we have also given opportunities to local high school students that are considering pursuing an Architecture degree. During their time here, interns get to observe what an architect or intern does, as well as assist the others in the making and promoting of architecture.
