Located on several acres of beautifully landscaped grounds adjoining nearby waterways, the elaborate Grey Craig estate accommodates several buildings, including an early twentieth century mansion with nearly 25,000 square feet of living space. Windigo was involved with the reorganization, renovation and restoration of many of the spaces within the main house. The first phase in the renovation included the design of a new “Tuscan” kitchen and family room area. We also transformed the former servants quarters, located above the kitchen, into a new exercise room and bathroom with a custom steam shower. The second phase of the project involved the redesign of the master bedroom suite, guest suites and the conversion of the attic into a grand party room with vast gabled ceilings exceeding fifteen feet in height. Windigo worked with the owner on restoring many of the original features that make this home truly unique, including the re-glazing and re-finishing of the steel-framed sunroom, the refurbishing of several gardens and the redesign and resurfacing of the main entry courtyard. The result is a scheme that accommodates the demands of the twenty-first century lifestyle while retaining the grandeur and sophistication of the original design.
