The project involved the complete renovation of the main house and carriage house (a combined area of 22,500 square feet) at Hopedene, a Cliff Walk, oceanfront estate in Newport, Rhode Island. Originally designed in 1898 by the renowned Boston architectural firm of Peabody & Stearns, the spectacular buildings needed to be revived, and functionally needed to meet the twenty-first century requirements of its new owners. Both buildings and much of the grounds were brilliantly revitalized to meet the contemporary needs of its owner, while retaining the spirit and grandeur of the original design.
